The bedroom should be a place of relaxation, calm, and coziness. Could it be possible that clutter, and unfinished tasks are distracting from your zen? It’s said that minimalist spaces can actually help you destress, influence your mood, and make life easier. Read more
Ever feel the need to clean up before people come over, because heaven forbid they see what your house really looks like? I think I inherited this trait from my mama, but since creating our minimalist home, I have far less to clean or put away before welcoming company. Read more
Can you believe there’s only 10 days until Christmas?!
Are you feeling the holiday crunch? Stores are packed with last minute shoppers, people are frantically trying to get everything wrapped up and shipped out, and the credit card bill keeps adding up.
Honestly, I wouldn’t know… Read more
When grocery shopping, I used to look inside of my fridge, see what was missing, and write it on a list to purchase. Smart right? Sticking to a list would for sure help my budget and keep me from wasting food?!
WRONG! Although I was sticking to my list, I was spending a tonne of money on items I wouldn’t use that week and in turn wasting food, and basically throwing away my money. I was filling the void in my fridge rather than really planning ahead for what I needed to buy and how I would use it. Read more
I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a bit of a whirlwind in the kitchen and it does not always look as clean as it does in these photos. If you’re lucky enough to have one, now is a better time than ever to clean out your garage, donate unwanted items, and make space to park your car! (they call it a “2-car garage”…. because cars are supposed to fit in it!). Read more
You probably have too many cleaning products in your house. Whether stashed under the kitchen sink, in a closet, or a cupboard, these harsh products take up space, and are usually toxic to you and the environment.
Have you actually read the SDS sheet for some of the products you’re using? I bet you’d be surprised! Read more
Food is meant to be eaten!
Day 12 of the Minimalist Home Challenge: The Pantry.
Pantries are great to keep unsightly food items off the kitchen counter or out of your cabinets, but they often collect multiples of food items, as well as food we don’t use. Since the food is out of sight, it is out of mind.
