I created this recipe after going out to a chain restaurant that offered minimal vegetarian food options. When I was there, I asked them to hold the meat, which ended up with a barren and less than appetizing flatbread. 

This is now a favourite in our home! Can be used as an appetizer, or as a great hot lunch! Enjoy!

Top 5 Tips for Visiting Paris

So you’re planning a trip to the city of love. There are so many great things about Paris, the food, the architecture, the fashion, the art, and the culture to name a few.

I remember my first trip to Paris when I was on a teaching exchange in university. I was overwhelmed when leaving the CDG airport, trying to get the RER into Paris, and navigating the metro. I was travelling with two other girlfriends, and I was luckily informed by my mother ahead of time to “pack light” as the smaller metro stations are not luggage friendly (my friends were not so lucky). As three “divas on a dime”, we didn’t want to take a 50€ (approx. $60 USD / $75 CAD)  cab ride from the airport to our airbnb, but if you have the funds, Paris has a 50€ flat rate fee for rides in from the airports. When thinking about the purchase of a home, one of the biggest investments a person can make, it’s important to to know what you are getting yourself into. Create a list of must-haves and explore your desired neighbourhood to see if there are any homes that “fit the bill”. If you’re like me, you’re a bit of a perfectionist, which means that you have a vision for something that you want and it need to meet your standards.
This is one of the reasons my husband and I decided to go with a new-build home. That isn’t to say building new doesn’t have it’s own set of challenges… but I’ll save those for another post.
